MacNeil's fourth win in Santiago tied the record for most gold by a Canadian swimmer at a Pan Am Games while her six total medals (four gold, a silver and bronze) also equalled a single Games national mark. Chile enjoyed their best day of the Panamerican Games scooping up three gold to push their total to five while Argentina's struggles continued.

CNN —Simone Biles won her fourth gold medal of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships on Sunday, finishing first in the floor exercise, as she completes her first international competition since her two-year break from gymnastics. The gold in floor is Biles’ 23rd world championship gold medal and was her second of the day, having won the beam competition in Antwerp, Belgium. Rebeca Andrade of Brazil denied Biles a 22nd world title by winning the vault competition ahead of the American superstar. Biles' second vault was an excellent Cheng to finish with a combined score of 14.549. Andrade was nearly flawless to snatch the gold medal by a margin of 0.201 points. Needing to regain her composure immediately for her second vault, Biles went on to score an impressive 14.666 for an average score of 14.549. Kaylia Nemour of Algeria won silver, while the USA’s Shilese Jones took bronze. On Friday, Biles surpassed Belarusian Vitaly Scherbo’s record of 33 overall medals across both the Olympics and the world championships with a record sixth all-around gold.
